Focusing on concepts of the islandic, archipelagic, and oceanic, the conference accounts for the field's interdisciplinary historical formation, while examining its manifold scholarly and creative practices and possibilities within and across Asia. The conference will be of interest to researchers and practitioners in the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences; topics include, but are not limited to, islandscapes, seascapes, and littorals; borders and contact zones; international, national, imperial, regional, cultural and language formations; and bio- and cultural diversity.
